Boy Scout Troops require charter organizations in order to exist. CBC is glad to partner with the Scouts, families, and volunteers of Troop 828, providing meeting space and help with organizational oversight.

Plans social and mission-oriented events throughout the year for children and families, like the Easter Sunday Egg Hunt, or various family movie nights at the church. Coordinates weekly children’s (babies through 5th grade) programs and manages volunteers for the worship hour. Coordinates with a variety of other children’s ministry programs. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. Ensures preparation for communion services.
Crisis Team
Responds to the unique needs surrounding crisis situations.
Guest Central Team
Helps guests feel comfortable when they visit CBC. Team members engage guests, guide them to where they need to go, and provide them with information about our church and its programs. The Guest Central table is located in the Main Entrance and is staffed by friendly and knowledgeable persons that seek to assure guests have a pleasant and meaningful experience when visiting CBC. The Team continues to seek friendly persons to help serve at the table on a rotating basis.
Homebound/ Shut-in Visitation Team
Maintains contact with those unable to attend church because of long term or short term confinement. It is a ministry of contact by personal visitations, telephone calls, and written communications. The team seeks to encourage those confined to their home or other facility by showing that they remain an important part of our church family.
Hospital Visitation Team
Each member of the team takes a week at a time and visits hospitalized Centerville Baptist Church family and friends or those having surgery by making a short visit and having prayer with them. Please consider joining us for a rewarding experience of being the hands and feet of Jesus.
Meals Team
Calls on lay people to assist with meals for families in need, as well as set-up and clean-up before and after. The Deacon Meals Team also provides receptions for funerals when requested by the family.
Coordinates to reach church seekers across multiple digital platforms. Coordinates to present an up-to-date view of CBC and provide information on church events.
They help support programs initiated by the Pastors, Sunday School Director, and Group Leaders at CBC. They also formulate ideas for new discipleship opportunities and studies that encourage deeper spiritual growth among the congregation.
Coordinates and serves the church family fellowship meals. The meals are pot-luck style and the team helps with preparation, presentation, serving, and cleanup. Our fellowship meals are typically held on the 3rd Sunday of the month.

Assists the church in making and keeping accurate, comprehensive records of its current life and work. The team helps the church understand and learn from its history, and helps church members know and appreciate their larger heritage as Baptists.
Maintains books, DVD, and other items in the church library which are available for all the Centerville family. These items are sometimes checked out by members to loan to homebound members and/or their families. Bible Study Kits previously purchased by study groups are also kept in the library for future use by the community or members.
Determines in relation to the church community the appropriate time and media to use to communicate church projects and events internally and externally in order to improve general communication.
Provides an opportunity for Sunday morning Bible study, spiritual growth, and fellowship for all ages, from crib babies to senior adults. Classes are small and provide an inviting atmosphere facilitating growth, trust, and fellowship. If you feel called to serve through this program in any way, please contact Joe Strange. Support group for women of child loss. We know that the loss of one’s child brings out powerful and painful emotions that can only be truly understood by others who have had a similar loss. We are a group of loving women who provide emotional support for each other and meet monthly to share our stories, struggles, triumphs, sorrows, and joys.
Coordinates and mobilizes volunteers for summer Vacation Bible School.
Seeks to minister to women of all ages by sponsoring Bible Studies, women’s getaway retreats, and to provide time to socialize by sponsoring luncheons, teas, and women’s nights out.

CBC celebrates Christ with a blended worship service. We praise God with our choir and praise band during Sunday morning worship and special worship services, and during select services, our handbell choir rings their love to the Lord.
Plans worship services with the leading of the Pastor’s scripture text and theme of the sermon. Creates a flow of worship by blending both traditional hymns and contemporary songs, special music from the adult choir, handbells, children’s choirs, and various instrumental groups or soloists along with liturgical readings and short messages in video to provide many ways to connect with God.
Convenes the worship team for regularly scheduled monthly meetings for the discussions of all aspects of the worship calendar. Typically comprises the Pastor, Equipping Pastor, Worship Leader, Choir, Band, and Handbell leaders, Worship Visual Enhancement leader, Children’s and Youth leaders, Worship A/V leader and any other leaders or attendees interested in the planning of worship services.

Our singers range from novice to experienced musicians. We are always looking for more voices to join in the joy. Please come join us and share your gift of song!
Handbell Choir
The handbell choir is a fun and spirited group of all-aged ringers. The group meets for practices at various times of the year to ring for seasonal worship services such as: Hanging of the Greens, Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, Easter and Mother’s Day.
CBC Band
The CBC band leads the congregation in both contemporary and traditionally inspired worship music. They seek to help others feel God’s presence as they lead songs of praise and adoration to a loving God who wants to draw near to people.

Ushers/ Greeters Team
Our ushers and greeters strive to make you feel at home. If you have any questions or if there is anything we can do to help make your time with us more welcoming, please don’t hesitate to let one of our team members know. If you love people and are willing to greet others with a smile, this ministry is a great place to begin serving at CBC. Our team welcomes and directs visitors, attendees, and members on Sunday mornings and other occasional events throughout the year.
Worship A/V Team
The weekly Sunday worship service is supported by the soundboard mixer, video recorder, and audio visual presentation. We help ensure the technology for the service runs smoothly so the congregation can focus on worship and the message.
Worship Visual Enhancement Team
We all experience the peace of God’s presence in different ways. While song and prayer are often the first to come to mind, some feel closer to God while appreciating the aesthetics of simple beauty. The Worship Visual Enhancement Team works with the Worship Team to develop visual aids and decorations to enhance sermons, cantatas, and special worship events in the sanctuary with seasonal or holiday decorations. If you have a knack for crafts or an eye for detail and décor, you might enjoy serving with this team.
Youth Ministry Team
Coordinates and runs programs and events for youth in grades 6-12. Also, assists in fostering a church culture that welcomes, includes, and nurtures youth. More information on our youth programs can be found in the Grow Together menu.
